Most
of these reservoirs are located in Warangal district and have become a
boon to the people living in the upland areas of Deccan plateau as
availability of water for them remained a distant dream so far.
The
reservoirs filed included Narsingapur, Bheemghanpur, Rangaiah-Yerraiah
Cheruvu, Pulkurthy, Salivagu, Nashkal, Palakurthy, Nawabpet and
Tapaspalli. Among them, Bommakur near Jangaon was inaugurated recently
by Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy.
On
completion of these phases in all respects along with phase III,
Devadula, on which Rs. 5,903 crore has been spent till date, will be
able to fill another 12 reservoirs and provide water to over 6.5 lakh
acres of fresh ayacut in Warangal, Karimnagar and Nalgonda districts.
